The R15 heater unit operates on a warm air system via a storage heat core. The centrifugal fan, located under the storage core, draws air through a washable filter, through the heat storage core, before mixing it with the appropriate amount of cool air and then discharging the warm air through outlets in the base chamber.

Underfloor air ducts may be fitted directly to this base chamber to distribute the warm air to a number of locations through room outlet grills.

A tamper proof cover conceals the user controls located on the front panel. The adjustable input control determines amount of OffPeak charge acceptance, with a manual control for the quiet two speed fan to increase heat output.

A Day Energy switch enables on-peak energy to supplement warm air delivery if heat in the core has been depleted.
